Janice I. Hearring (Keller) - Class Of 1963

Janice I. Hearring (Keller)

Janice Irene (Hearring) Keller, 75, of Olney, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, January 22, 2021.  She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Janice was born September 10, 1945 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Willis and Irene (Goss) Hearring.  She grew up spending time with her friends, family and pets, especially Fireball.

Throughout her lifetime, Janice enjoyed working in the local community.  She appreciated and valued the countless friendships developed while working at GTE, AMF, Olney Trust Bank, and the IL Dept. of Rehab Services.  Janice was a kind and nurturing soul who treasured spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She led a life full of grace and enjoyed the simple things in life such as planting flowers, working puzzles, and baking and eating sweets.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Lisa Weiler and husband Kenny, of Claremont; Theresa Fitzsimmons and husband Scott, of Davis Junction, IL; and Jennifer Weidner and husband Mark, of Olney; grandchildren, Bryce, Kenzie, Kyrstin, and Kelysse Weiler, Kaitlyn, Jacob, and Jared Fitzsimmons, Aidan, Aubrie, Adrienne, and Adler Weidner; brother, Jerry (Ann) Hearring; close family member, Clara Jo Hearring; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donny Hearring; sister, Dee Sager; cousins, Bob Hearring and Jim Hearring; and former husband, Larry Keller.

A Private Family Service for Janice will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Kistler Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation for family members beginning one hour prior.  Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont, Illinois.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph School or to Beautiful Lives Project, a non-profit organization cofounded by Bryce Weiler. This organization provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in sports, performing arts, visual arts and other activities which they wouldn’t otherwise experience.

I was saddened to read that the class of 1963 has lost another classmate.  My memories of Janice go all the way back to our grade school days at Cherry School!  She was a kind , soft spoken person then and remained so throughout her life.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family!   Pat Stewart Clark

It's sad to hear of another classmate passing away. I had to look at our yearbook to see what she was involved in. It's hard for the entire family to loose the mom, grandmother and friend of all. May God bless and comfort them

Due to our names I sit beside Janice in several classes in High School. She was always kind and nice to everyone. Sorry to hear of her passing.  Gary Heckler
