Jerry L. Graves

Jerry Lee Graves, age 76 of Dundas, Illinois, passed away on November 19, 2021, at Deaconnes Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN, following an extended illness. Jerry was born March 27, 1945, in Olney, Illinois, at the Jackson Hospital, the son of Melvin and Mabel (Kermicle) Graves. He married Patricia Cunningham on October 30, 1972, and she survives.

He attended grade school in Dundas and graduated East Richland High School in 1963. He served in the Illinois National Guard. Jerry was a third-generation dairy farmer. He dedicated his life to developing superior genetics in the Jersey Cattle Breed at Clover Farms Dairy with his twin brother, Jimmy, younger brother Tony and nephews, Ryan and Walter. Jerry was normally seen with his constant sidekick, brother Jimmy, conducting farming operations throughout the County. He was a member of the Richland County Farm Bureau and the American Jersey Cattle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, daughter Pam (Jim) Brinkley, granddaughters Sacha (Garrett) Dickerson and Jamie (Chad) Shaffer, and great grandsons, Cylas and James; brothers, Jimmy (Jayne) Graves, Tony (Chris) Graves and sister, Marcia (Ray) Vaughn, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Monty.

Services will be held at the Immanuel Church in Olney Il. at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 29th.

Condolences to Jerry’s family. So sorry to read that the class of ‘63 has lost another classmate.
