Mildred L. (Short) Berlin, 86, of Olney, Illinois passed away August 28, 2024 at her residence.

Mildred was born May 5, 1938 in Richland County, Illinois to George Ernest Short and Opal Mildred (Sanders). She married Donal "Don" F. Berlin on September 9, 1999 in Effingham, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2006.

Mildred retired from Champion Lab in West Salem and then worked as a cook at Richland Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed being with friends, dancing and being with her best friend, Lucy, a Dachshund. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, going on camping trips and shopping.

She loved the Lord and was a member of Christian Church of Olney.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Judy Zollars and husband Billy of Olney; son, Albert Bricker, Jr. and wife Melody of Martinsville, IL; 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Jennifer) Painter, Lucas Painter, Michael Zollars, Jacob, Julia, and Joy Bricker; great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kaelyn brother, Robert (Virginia) Short; sister-in-law, Francine Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Don Berlin; son, Jason Bricker; son, Jerry Short; and sister-in-law, Suzie Short.

A visitation will be held on September 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. Following the visitation, a graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Cemetery in Berryville.
