John Larry Sager

John Larry Sager, 66, Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, Nov. 26,2005, at Gateway Medical Center.  Funeral at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Charlie Carmack officiating.  Burial in Sango Cemetery.

He was born in Olney, Ill. April 24, 1939, son of the late John William Sager and Imogene Nadine Deck Sager.

Mr. Sager was retired Green Beret of the US Army Special Forces serving two tours in Vietnam while earning the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He was also a mechanic at State Industries and a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Verna Joyce Poole Sager, his sons Michael Larry Sager, Vince Edward Sager (Sherry), Craig Steven Sager (Sandi), his daughter Michelle Joyce Reed, Six Grandchildren, and Four Great-Children all of Clarksville.

Other family survivors include sisters Delores White and Sharon Hopkins both of California, brothers Harry Sager and Gary Sager of California, and David Sager of Washington.

His ceremony will be presented with Military Honors.

Kenna Hayes (King) (1961)

Larry and I used to drag Main street in his big ole Mercury with the dice hanging down from the mirror.  He was a nice guy and I have fond memories of him.  Blessings to his wife, children and grandchildren!
