Tommy Ray Amerman - Class Of 1957

Tommy R. Amerman, age 72, of Pell City, Alabama died on Monday, December 14, 2009. He was born on November 3, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Mary Ethel Shipley Amerman and Sam Gerald Amerman.

Tommy was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving in the military from 1953 to 1957. He enjoyed a lifetime of work in retail, serving at Parisian department stores for many years. He was an avid golfer, but most of all, he was a devoted family man.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by six of his sisters and brothers: Melfa Noble, Fredona Knight, Ann Lodin, Betty Middleton, Peggy Worthall, and Sam G. Amerman.

Survivors include Tommy's wife of almost 49 years, Rowena Amerman; two daughters, Kelli A. (Rob) Gerchow and Shan A. (Curtis) Graham; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Alison) Williams, Alex Gerchow, Ben Gerchow, Michael Gerchow, Tommy Glenn, Kip Graham, Morgan Graham, and Vance Graham; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Williams; four sisters, Dora Mae Venable, Mary Jo (Jack) Provines, Jane Bryan, and Bobbie Kay (Ron) Nowak; one brother, Gary W. (Cookie) Amerman; and many special friends.

Funeral service in Southern Heritage Chapel, and burial in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. D. Tom Bell Jr. will officiate.
