Patsy (Bateman) Jones, 88, of Champaign, Illinois passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. 

She was born on February 15, 1936, in Olney, IL the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Hunt) Bateman. They preceded her in death. 

Patsy is survived by her husband, Bob, her sister, Sheri (Jerry) Vandergriff, children; Jill (Robert) Hasty, Amy Kappesser, grandchildren; Katherine Blas, Danielle (Anthony) Denney, Nicholas Hasty, Colleen Kidd, Erin (Cameron) Elliott, Kellie (Travis) Applegate, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Patsy enjoyed cooking, reading, genealogy, traveling, and spending time with her family. She worked several jobs throughout the years, but she will be remembered for being a selfless mother and wife. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers; Keith and Larry Bateman and sister; Nancy Fritschle. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5-7pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL. 61820 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7pm.
