Kinna King reports the death of childhood friend Madeline Gertsch, Class of 1961.  Madeline was born July 7th, 1943.  She died in 2009, at the age of 66.

Kinna writes,  "Madeline and I live one house apart growing up and played and fought all the time. I just re-conneced with her by email a few months before she passed away."

Mrs. Madeline Cantrell, 66, of Hazel Green, Alabama died Friday, November 6, 2009 at a local hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy Cantrell; her children, Rhonda Swaim, Pam Bottomley, Jim Bottomley, Marcy Hayes and Jenny Stafford; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

The funeral service is at the Hazel Green Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers are Ryan Haase, Jon Swaim, Brad Hayes, Marvin Stafford, Johnny Barnes and Mike Swaim.
