Paul Edward Buss, Jr. was born on July 21, 1943, to Paul and Mary (Payne) Buss in Olney, Illinois.

Paul was adventurous growing up. He enjoyed hunting rabbits with his grandfather at age 15. He graduated high school in Olney, Illinois as well. For the first half of his life, he was a farmer, which he loved. His work after farming was operating heavy equipment for Telephone Construction in Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and California. He also mowed lawns, which is how he met Della. He was mowing the yard with his dog and got her attention. Paul and Della were married in 1993. He had his first heart attack at the young age of 43. He later suffered a stroke in 2002. In 2006, they moved to Melcher to be close to family.

He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, gardening and weekends camping when not running the heavy equipment. His love for farming helped him raise an amazing garden complete with sprinklers and everything. He was also an avid trap shooter, where he earned many trophies and jackets. Fishing and playing pool were favorite hobbies of Paul’s. They spent a lot of time at the cabin at the lake in Illinois. Paul was such a generous soul and thought of everyone before himself. His mother raised him to be a wonderful man who loved people. He especially had a love for children.

Paul is survived by his wife, Della; children: John (Bobbie) Buss, Christine (Robert) Sedacca, Michael (Christina) Harris, and John (Linda) Harris; grandchildren: Jolynn, MacKenzie, McKenzie Ann, Jacob, Tyler, Colton, Peyton, John C., Michael, Jonathan, Christian, Jett, and Gage; siblings: Walter (Anita) Buss, Alice (Bob) Stanley, Linda Mott (Dan), and Mary Ann (John) Evans.
