Wanda Rose (Lomas) Rice, 67, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.  She was born on November 8, 1956, in Olney, Illinois; the daughter of Bernard and Joan (Thomas) Lomas.

After graduating from Edgewood high school, Wanda went on to attend Kent State University.  On August 26, 1995, Wanda married, David Irwin Rice; they shared twenty-eight years of wonderful marriage together.

Wanda worked in administration for several companies over the years; she worked for Transfuel, D&L and Bobcat. When her children were younger, Wanda was a dedicated stay-at-home mom who took great pride in providing and maintaining a beautiful home for her family. 

In her free time, Wanda enjoyed cooking, reading, writing poetry and short stories, bird watching and tending to her house plants and garden. She loved all types of animals, especially dogs.

She is survived by her mother, Joan Lomas; her husband, David Rice; her loving children, Matthew D. Rice and Thomas D. Rice and her brother, Jim Lomas (Linette Wiley -Fiancé)

She is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Bernard “Buddy” Lomas, Jr.
