George Gilbert Stanley, 86, of Olney passed away November 10, 2024 in Olney, IL.  George was born on September 2, 1938 in Olney, IL to parents, Harold and Alice (Schnautz) Stanley. He married Ramona (Mickey) Stanley, she precedes him in death.

George worked for Unocal for 23 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and going to car auctions. George was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He will be missed by many.

George is survived by Lance Stanley and wife, Michele, of Olney; granddaughters, Chelsea Stark and husband, Josh, of Wakefield, IL and Kaylea Dolan and husband, David, of Boone, IA; great grandchildren, Grace and Katelyn Ochs, Sadie, Vance, and Miles Dolan.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ramona Stanley; brothers, Melvin Stanley and Virgil Stanley; and sisters, Betty Stanley and Norma Murry.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. A Graveside Service will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Park on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Please dress casually to the graveside service, Cubs and Bears attire would be appreciated
