Pearl J. R. Dunahee

J.R. Pearl Donald Dunahee, 66, of Clay City passed away at home on Wednesday, August 2, 2006.  Burial in Clay City Cemetery.

J.R. Dunahee was born on January 11, 1940, in Dundas, the son of Pearl and Maude (More) Dunahee. He married Beverly Weidner on October 18, 1959, in Clay City.

He was a retired Postmaster in Grayville and worked part-time at Rural King in Olney for the past few years. He was a member of Clay City United Methodist Church. He previously worked at Bower Feed Mill, was a Postal Carrier in Flora, a Postal Supervisor in Centralia, and a Postmaster in Bonnie. His favorite hobby was gardening, as you can tell by looking at his pantry. He also loved studying the Gospel. J.R. volunteered often, when he could, by giving blood. He was just one pint short of 25 gallons in his lifetime.

J.R. is survived by his wife, Beverly; his daughter, Robin and her husband, George Jones, and their three children, Logan, Britney, and Luke, of Highland; his son, Troy and his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Tyler and Trenton, of Centralia; and his brother, Gene Dunahee, of Bridgeport.

J.R. was preceded in death by his father, mother, and older brother, Bill Dunahee, of Calhoun.
