Judy R. (Winn) Brown of Tucson, Arizona passed away.  At this time, we found no obit or service information.  Judy was the daughter of Rev. Dr. Maurice L. and Rebecca C. Winn.  Rev. Winn pastored the First United Methodist Church in Olney in the early 60’s.

Maurice Randall “Randy” Winn

Randy was born in Cairo, IL on September 1, 1949. He completed his journey on August 15, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and inspiration. He was a beloved son, devoted friend, and an influential figure in his community.

Randy is survived by his sister, Janet Harris, three nephews (Mark Zero, Robert Pipher, Ryan Pipher), two nieces (Lisa Rain, Renee Pipher), one great nephew, and one great niece. He joins his parents, Rev. Dr. Maurice L. Winn and Rebecca Claire Winn, and his sister, Judith Winn Brown, in eternal rest.

A steadfast member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Randy found solace and strength in his faith serving on various Diocesan committees. He served as the Chairman and Precinct Committeeman for the Jefferson County Republican Party, tirelessly advocating for his political ideals. He served as Treasurer of the Jefferson County Ministerial Association. His leadership shone as he chaired and organized the Christmas Food Baskets program, spreading goodwill to those in need.

A dedicated volunteer, Randy selflessly served his community. He extended his caring hands to organizations such as Meals on Wheels and CASA of Jefferson County, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of others.

Educated at Illinois Wesleyan University, Randy's professional journey led him to excel in philanthropy, planned giving, fundraising, and event planning at Ward, Dreshman & Reinhardt and United Methodist Children's Home. He was also a business owner in the local community, operating a sno-cone truck business and men's clothing store.

In his youth, he was an accomplished marathon runner, conquering 234 races across the United States. He expressed his creativity through his musical talents, enchanting audiences as a skilled pianist and acapella singer. His personal life was enriched by his close friends and his two beloved dogs. He also enjoyed hosting parties, connecting with others, and showcasing his culinary skills.

His funeral service will take place on September 15, 2023, at 4:00 PM, hosted by Trinity Episcopal Church at First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. Following the service, a dinner reception and celebration of his life will commence at 5:30 PM upstairs in the Bryan Dycus Hall.
