Chad E. Runyon, 47, of Olney, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his home. Chad was born July 9, 1977 in Olney, IL, the son of Larry and Donna (Struble) Runyon.

Chad worked for Dave Lawless Wholesale for over 20 years. He enjoyed working in his garage and finding new things to make out of his dad's old scraps. Chad also enjoyed taking care of the yard and spending time with the loves of his life, his daughter and granddaughter. He decorated for every holiday and did everything he could to impress his mom and dad.

Chad took pleasure in listening to rock music, some of his favorite bands were Ozzy, Metallica, Pantera, and Five Finger Death Punch. Anywhere he would go, he was sure to have one of those bands playing on his phone. Music was his way of coping with life.

Chad left a special mark on everyone in his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Chad is survived by his daughter, Kaitlin Runyon and fiancée, Jimmy Zerkle of Noble; mother, Donna Runyon of Olney; granddaughter, Alayna Rae Zerkle; sister, Christy Saltsgaver and husband, Tim of Mt. Carmel; niece, Whitney (Tim) Stone and their two sons, Elliot and Ethan of Evansville; nephew, Austin (Maddie) Saltsgaver of St. Francisville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Runyon.

A funeral service will be held for Chad on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney, with a visitation beginning one our prior to service time at the funeral home.
