Michael L. French, 60, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Olney, died Monday, June 18, 2001 at his home.  Burial at Keplinger Cemetery east of Landes.

Mr. French was born on December 18, 1941 in Olney, the son of Bascom Polk Jr. and Nathalee Gala Keplinger French.

He was a pipefitter of Local 157 in Terre Haute, Ind. and a member of Sons of American Legion.

Mr. French is survived by a daughter, Tonoah Marlowe of Olney; a half-brother, Bascom French IV of Athens, Ohio; an aunt, Virginia Leighty of Lawrenceville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
