Wilma Jean Brothers (Wehrheim)

Wilma J. (Brothers) Wehrheim, age 79, of Olney, Illinois passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Heritage of Health El Paso, Illinois. She was born on April 28, 1940 in Sumner, Illinois, the daughter of Aaron and Vera (Inyart) Brothers.

Wilma graduated from Wabash Valley College in 1973 in Practical Nursing and graduated from Olney Central College in 1984 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She was a dedicated nurse who loved her career, serving and caring for all. She continued to care for her brother, until his passing in March of this year. She was a lifelong resident of Olney, Illinois, where she resided at the time of her passing. She spent many years living in her beloved Indianapolis, Indiana, before returning to her hometown. She loved hiking, adventure, nature, dancing, the arts, reading, talking/hanging with her best friends, Ann Mowrer and Ruth Tolbert, and serving her Lord and Savior. She attended and was a member of First United Church of Christ. 

She married Francis E. Wehrheim and they had two daughters, Debra (Wehrheim) Nissen and Bill of Bloomington, Illinois and Teresa (Wehrheim) Mack and Dr. Neal Mack of Palm Harbor, Florida. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren & many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

Wilma was preceded in her passing by her parents; sister, Barbara Keen; and brothers, Jerry Lee, Jimmy Eugene and Jackie, and James Brothers.

A celebration of life will be conducted at the Sumner Cemetery for family and friends at a later date. Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements
