Katherine Gail Houpt, 82, of Ballwin, Missouri, formerly of Olney, passed away August 25, 2020 at her residence.  Kathy was born July 13, 1938 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Byrl and Mamie (Simms) Houpt.

Kathy graduated from East Richland High School in Olney in 1956, and graduated from Vincennes University before moving to St. Louis, MO. She retired from Horner Shifrin after thirty-eight years, but went back to work part time for several years after that. Kathy was an animal lover, and always had cats as pets. She was well known for her kindness, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Kathy will be missed by all those that knew her.

Kathy is survived by her brother, Kenneth Houpt of Olney; nephews, Dan Houpt and his wife, Margaret of Danville, IL, Mike Houpt and his wife, Lou Ann of Virginia Beach, VA, and Steve Houpt and his wife, Linda of Kalispell, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her older sister, Pat Houpt; and her brother, Gene Houpt.

A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on September 1, 2020 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A Visitation will begin one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Haven Hill Cemetery.
