Cheryl Hurt (Ginder)

Cheryl Lynn (Hurt) Ginder, 69, of Olney, died on Monday, January 27, 2020 at her residence.  Cheryl was born on July 10, 1950, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Ivy) Hurt.  She married Robert Ginder on September 28, 1968 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown and he survives.

Cheryl was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed line dancing with her husband and friends throughout the Tri-State area. She also took pleasure in researching genealogy. Cheryl founded the Angel of Hope Memorial Garden in Musgrove Park to honor the lives of children lost too soon. She was a believer in Christ and found great comfort in her faith. She was known for her outgoing personality and never met a stranger. Cheryl made friends quickly and made everyone feel welcome.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bob Ginder of Olney; son, Shawn Ginder and wife Amanda of Vincennes, IN; son, James Ginder of Olney; son, Kyle Ginder and wife Cari of Carmi, IL; daughter, Kelsey Ginder of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Robbie Ginder, Carson Ginder, Mackenzie Ginder, and Jackson Ginder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brett Ginder; and brother, David Hurt.

Memorials can be made to Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial Garden.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.

Thank God you are no longer suffering and in pain. So thankful you are in Heaven with Jesus. I can't imagine how happy the reunion with Brett, your parents, and your brother must have been. Rest In Peace, Cheryl.
