Bruce Fessel

Bruce Allan Fessel, 64, of Olney, died on Monday, April 13, 2020 at his residence.  Bruce was born on July 22, 1955 in Olney, IL, the son of Harry Lee and Eva Fay (Dunaway) Fessel.

Bruce attended Gem City College and became a talented jeweler in Olney and Colorado Springs, Co. He lived in Colorado Springs, Co for many years and enjoyed the mountains and beautiful scenery there. To his grandchildren he was known as "Gumpy", a combination of Grandpa and Grumpy. He took pleasure in flying planes including World War 2 reenactments, which he helped refurbish. Bruce took pleasure in riding motorcycles, music especially bluegrass music, nature walks, cooking, visiting and helping family and friends and will be remembered by many for his contagious laugh and his love and devotion to the care of his mother during her later years.

Bruce is survived by his sons, Jeremy (Jamie) Fessel of Olney, Nicholas Fessel of Olney, Cody Fessel (Chris Knauf) of Los Angeles, CA, and stepsons Jay (Carol) Pitzer & Jon (Amy) Pitzer; special friend, Samantha Stoner and daughter Shyla Crease of Olney; brother, Mark (Patty) Fessel of Olney; grandchildren, Noah, Hunter, Haley, Nathaniel, Taylor, & Jesika; dog, Charlie; a niece, Brandy (Chad) Piercefield, great nephews, great niece, numerous cousins and many beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites were accorded. No services are planned at this time
