Ray Sager

Ray E. Sager, age 89, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Saturday morning, October 24, 2020 at his residence. Ray was born in Richland County, Illinois to Clarence Earl and Ida May (Roney) Sager.

Ray was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bloomington, IN and was a member of Gideons International and Men of the Cross. Ray graduated from Olney High School in Olney, Illinois, class of 1951. Ray worked for Hocking Motors, then formed a partnership with Jack Tompson that was known as Ray & Jack's Truck and Auto Repair until 1989. In 1954 Ray married Esther Pauline Williams and she preceded him in death. On November 24, 1990 Ray married Ruth May Ford who survives.

Ray is also survived by three sons; Rodger (Kristin) Sager, of Fishers, IN, Dennis (Kandy) Sager, of Savoy, IL, and Ronald (Nancy) Sager, of Cranbury, NJ, six grandchildren; Trevor (Brittany) Sager, Kelsey (David) Rusk, Jessica (Robert) Hunt, Brittney (John) Ciciora, Matthew Sager, and Ginny Sager McKenzie, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, three step-children, Janine Reagan, Douglas (Kim) Ford, and Kristin (Chuck) Wiedenhoeft, five step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred and Marie Fletcher, and two brothers, Russell and Jimmie Sager.

Funeral service held at the Bloomington Free Methodist Church, Bloomington, IN with Rev. Dr. Ronald Sager officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont, Illinois.
