James Stewart Anderson, 85, of Newton, Illinois died on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Carle Hospital in Champaign.

James Stewart Anderson was born on June 29, 1935 in Dundas, IL, the son of Oscar Hillard and Lorene (Stewart) Anderson Craig. He married Larna (Decker) on August 29, 1955 in Dundas, IL, and she survives. 

James retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in 1997, after 44 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.

James is survived by his wife of 65 years; sister, Judy Snider of Dundas; children, Jerry Stewart Anderson of Dundas and Lee Stewart (Joyce) Anderson of Olney; grandchildren, Laura (Dave) Easter of Mt. Carmel, IL, Jamie (Jake) Gill of Mt. Carmel, IL, J.R. (Darlene) Anderson of Augusta, GA, Sarah (Nick) Shafer of Bloomington, IN, Ashley (Darrin) Martin of Edmond, OK, Melissa Schneider of Terre Haute, IN, Bruce (Anna) Sager of Olney, IL, and Mark (Erica) Sager of Maineville, OH; 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Lee; brother-in-law, Romaine Snider; step-father, Dorris Craig; step-sisters, Judy Miller and Nancy Clark.

A private Graveside Service will be held for James, and interment will take place at Dundas Cemetery.
