I went to school with David.  We often teased each other about our age. We were both born on April 17, 1944.

He claimed he was the better looking one and he probably was.

I live in charleston and often in the past talked with him at Perrish carbet and at class reunions.

He was a good friend and always remember me and my family when ever we met.

Good bye....good friend

Don

I grew up next door to the Pauls. David was four years older than me, so we weren't close friends, but he always treated me with respect. Mother and I went to the Nazarene Church, as did the Pauls. David's dad, Leo, always had a beautiful garden which was his pride and joy. Unfortunately the neighborhood boys played ball next to the garden and invariablly a stray ball found its way into the garden. That never turned out well. Sorry to learn of David's passing. My condolence.

David was a classmate from fourth grade through high school, and I've scoured my memories. For some reason I rode my bike to his house on, my memory says, East North Street in Olney, but I can't remember why. I remember David as always polite and respectful, but so much has faded. I believe it was David who told the story of being born on the coldest day in Olney's recorded history. My thoughts go out to those who loved him and will miss him. I spoke with him a few minutes at our last class reunion in 2017, and he invited me to visit next time I was in the area. I'll never know whether it could have happened.

David was also a good friend of Ronnie McNight.  I believe they were swimming together at the Lake north of town when he, Ronnie, Drowned.

Later years he would take about that day and his friendship with Ronnie.
