In Memory

Patricia Lee Kubilski (Luthe) - Class Of 1962

Patricia Lee Kubilski (Luthe)

Patricia (Kubilski) Luthe, age 75 of Congerville, IL passed from this life to the next on April 20, 2020 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

Patricia was born in West Frankfort, IL on September 30, 1944 to Bernard and Mildred (Fritschle) Kubilski. She was baptized in the Methodist faith. She married Michael Luthe in West Salem, IL on May 20, 1962 and they enjoyed almost 58 years together.

Patricia was a teacher and spent many years influencing the lives of her students.
How very difficult to sum up all that she is in just a few paragraphs. She will be missed!

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judith Weber.

She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Michael, her son Alex (Melissa) Luthe, granddaughter Annika Luthe and a granddaughter that chose her and Michael, Steph Rosenthal. She will also be remembered by close friends, Mike and Marjorie Rosenthal and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, a private graveside service will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, IL.

Her wishes were that if anyone felt they needed to “do something”, they should donate to a Mental Health Organization of their choice or donate to their favorite library.

My wife and I have recently been going through things we found stored in my mother's attic when she died sixteen years ago, and among them were two pictures clipped from the Olney Daily Mail of the 1962 Illinois
State Scholarship winners. There were eight of us, but only seven in the picture. Pat is in front, lower left. When I transferred from SIUE to ISNU as a sophomore to be with my soon to be wife who was a freshman in 1963, Pat was already there, and as I recall, she finished a master's degree before I finished my BA. I saw her only occasionally at the student union, but she was always pleased to catch up for a minute or two. It seems so long ago at the same time as seeming just yesterday. I am saddened for her husband and family and wish for them fond memories and knowledge of love.

I can sympathize with you, Mike.  My husband died this April.  He hadn't been sick at all, just suddenly died in his sleep.  Look for your wife in your family and think of all the good times you had and all the good times yet to be had with them.  I didn't really know your wife, but I remember you.  Don't be sad.  Your wife wouldn't want that.
