Jim Henby, 75, of Olney, died on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. He was born April 7, 1944 in Richland Co., Illinois, the son of Aden Henby, Sr. and Florence (Smith). He married Donna Densmore on March 27, 1964 in Olney, and she survives. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna K. Henby of Olney; daughter, Michele Coplea; son, Sean Henby; daughter, Shannone (Cory) Ristvedt; son, Nathan Henby; grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Dasch, Austin Tibbs, Devan (Jordan) Crow, Arianna Henby, and Gabriella Henby; great grandchildren, Olivia Dasch, Westlyn Crow, and Reese Dasch; sister, Betty Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the 1st Cav, U.S. Army from 1966-67. He was a longtime employee of Prairie Farms and retired in 2009 after more than 30 years. Jim was a volunteer fireman with the Olney Fire Department for many years. He also was an auxiliary Deputy with the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Department. Jim was a constant comedian and loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Aden Henby, Jr.; sister-in-law, Dee Clark; sister, Carolyn Meadows; brother-in-law, Ed Meadows; brother-in-law, George Brown; and mother-in-law, Maxine Fout.

Memorials can be made to Richland County Homefront.

There will be a funeral service held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Haven Hill Cemetery, with full Military Rites performed at the graveside.
