Lawrence Searby (Dr. Ed. 1958)

Lawrence Deane”Larry” Searby, 50, of Tulare, California, former area resident, died in his home June 28, 1983.

Mr. Searby lived in Wabash and Edwards Counties and was a 1950 graduate of Edwards County High School. Prior to moving to California in 1958, taught school in Olney and Sullivan. He taught Driver Education at Olney.

For the past 21 years he taught in Tulare at Union and Western High Schools. He also taught evening classes at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Tulare Am Vets and the Moose Lodge of Visalia.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; two sons, Dr. Phil Searby of Chicago and Brad Searby of Tulare; his father, H.E. Searby of Browns; one sister, Mary Jo Ochs of Visalia; three brothers, Dr. Ray Searby of Freeport, Ill, Howard Searby of Tamaroa, Ill and Burke Searby of Mt. Carmel, Ill.

Private cremation held. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
