Naydine M. Hughes, 77, of Muncie, Indiana, achieved her goal of going to Heaven on October 27, 2004. She was a three year resident of Muncie Health Care and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Olivet, Ill., the daughter of Rev. Arthur and Rev. Mina Nutt. She was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and was a high school English teacher.

Her late husband, Rev. Gilbert Hughes, was a Nazarene pastor and held pastorates in Muncie, IN, Springfield, Rantoul, Decatur and Olney, IL. Naydine was very involved as a minister's wife and served on many national and international mission boards. Together Gilbert and Naydine ministered to countless thousands of people.

Survivors include their only son, Darrell Hughes, who is a counselor for New Castle Schools and resides in Muncie. Naydine is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Virgil Nutt of Illinois and Rev. Selden Nutt of California.

Services at the Yorktown United Methodist Church. Burial in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
