Vicki Conley (Communications 1972-1974)

Vicki Lynn (Bourne) Conley, 66, of Effingham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 10, 2014, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield. Funeral services at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney.

Vicki was born Aug. 5, 1948, in Olney, the daughter of Loy and Norma (Lamkin) Bourne Sr. She married Daniel J. Conley on Feb. 6, 1971, in Normal, and he survives.

Vicki was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham. She was a retired teacher and tutor. She graduated from Noble High School and Illinois State University with a bachelor and master degree of science. Vicki volunteered at Central Grade School and was a mentor for Unit 40. She also volunteered for Samaritan's Purse – Operation Christmas Child. Vicki loved children and her passion was teaching. She also had a special love for dogs and enjoyed rescuing dogs that needed a home.

Survivors include her husband, Dan; brother, Loy Bourne Jr. (wife, Sherry) of Ashmore; special family, Tony and Aleyda Munoz and children, Antonio, Isabella and Emilia.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

How sad! Ms Conley was my favorite teacher. We all knew she cared about us. Such a heart-breaking loss... My condolances to her family and friends.
