Mary E. Burgin, 78, of Olney, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab in Carrier Mills, IL.  Mary was born on January 1, 1941 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Everett Vernon and Inez (Fulk) Burgin.

In addition to being a beautician for many years, Mary also owned and operated Mary Burgin's Boarding Home here in Olney. She had a great love for God, her family and friends. Mary had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. Her horses were her pride and joy and she spent countless hours with them. Mary enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, and spending time with her daughter. She had a gracious heart and was willing to provide help in any way that she could.  Mary attended the Christian Church of Olney.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Diana Mercer and husband Jeff of New Harmony, IN; sisters, Una Tarpley and Diana Burgin; brother, Gary Burgin and wife Kaye; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Shane Hendricks; brother, Little Everett Burgin, Jr.; sister, Carol Brown; brother, Warren Burgin; sister, Alice Brooks; and Dancing Bear (Roger Hendricks).

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
