Larry Dever

Larry Dever, born April 26, 1953, Syracuse, NY, peacefully passed away Jan. 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life service at First United Methodist Church of San Marcos. Sweet Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him!

Larry went to school in Olney, Illinois until his junior year he moved to Edinburg, Texas. Graduated Edinburg High School 1971, he attended Texas Tech in 1971.  Larry’s favorite author was Tom Robbins.

Larry was an entrepreneur and always inventing. In 1984 he started Texas Star Mesquite business. From 1986-2001, he worked for Epsiia, an Austin based computer company where he founded and built RomComm, one of the first systems to eliminate paper and write directly to CDRom.  Larry developed a database for the Texas Governor’s office integrating, and indexing email, phone calls and documents coming to the State office.

Larry loved to travel and earned his pilot’s license. He lived on the Tenataque Beach in Mexico and South Padre Island, where he loved giving Hobie Cat rides in his early years. Larry moved to San Marcos, Texas where many of his brothers lived and where he enjoyed the rest of his life.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patricia Dever and father James. Larry is survived by his beloved wife Annette, sons Nicholas and Dylan, 4 brothers and 1 sister and spouses, John and Kathryn Dever of Knoxville, Tenn., Debrorah Kincaid and Harold Kocher of Salem, IL., Danny and Pam Dever of San Marcos, David and Zsuzsanna Dever of San Diego, CA and Todd and Mary Dever of Austin, Texas.
