Ronald Sprague Sr., 79, of Lincoln, Illinois, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Springfield on May 12, 2017. Services at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Kenneth Kramer officiating. Burial at New Union Cemetery.

Ron was born Oct. 9, 1937, in West Liberty, Ill., son of Robert and Ilma (Franklin) Sprague. He married Mary King on Aug. 9, 1957. She survives him.

Also surviving are his children, Beth (Russell) Wright, and Ronald Sprague Jr., both of Lincoln, Ill.; three grandchildren: Kassie Henrichsmeyer of Clay City, Ill., Colt (Haley) Wright of Sunset, Texas, and Chase Wright of Lincoln, Ill.; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joshua Sprague; and one sister, Glenys McWilliams.

Ron was a warehouse supervisor at PPG in East Peoria, Ill., before he retired.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a member of the Eagles Lodge #2708 in Lincoln, Ill., an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and was in the Mazda Miata Club.
