Something else to appreciate about Terry's younger teen years. Terry and I "hung out" together a bit during our high school and our OCC years when he kept all the cars on the lot spotless at Bateman's Autos on East Main. Many of us see washing one or two cars as a chore; he wiped down an entire lot with a chamois after school every day!  🚗🚙🚒🚕🚗  And he liked to drag Main in frosty weather with the car windows rolled down and the heater on full blast; it was and still is a unique feeling. 🗒📇  During that era in his life he was heavily involved in assisting his aunt in documenting headstones in the many, many family and church cemeteries in and around Richland County. Documenting cemeteries was a nationwide genealogical effort that fundamentally changed family history research as can be seen on the PBS show "Finding Your Roots". Sadly that's how we found some of our ERHS Class of '68 alumni - by searching "Find a Headstone" for the family surname and following the "related to" info in the bio. 🎤🎹🎸  Who knew that the guy who sang along with "and they all went to Heaven in a little row boat" on the car radio would make a career out of performing music?
