Floyd Householder

Floyd Householder, 60, well known Preston Township resident and former Pure Oil employee, died unexpectedly at the Richland Memorial Hospital Friday noon, March 6, 1970 following a very brief illness.

Mr. Householder was born in Noble Township on April 1, 1909, son of the late Neal and Luella Bateman Householder. He was united in marriage to Lorena Prather on April 19, 1931 in Olney.

He was a very faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for many years and was very active in all aspects  and church groups. He was employed by the Motor Transport Division of the Pure Oil Company for seventeen years, and then became custodian at Central School. He was an overseas veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, Lorena, he is survived by a son, Major Fred Householder, M.D. with the U.S. Army at Ft. Benning, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Darlene; three grandchildren; one brother, W.D. Householder of Dwight, Ill.and one sister, Mrs. Murray (Leona) Bauch of Evansville.

Funeral services in the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. W.A. Robinson officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
