Milo Gregory

Milo E. Gregory, 94, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Barton W. Stone Christian Home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1907, in Etherton Switch, the son of Daniel Edward and Flora May Harpster Gregory. He married Mildred Irene Phillips in 1935 in Rardin; she died in 1967. He later married Margaret L. McLain Highfill in 1967 in Jacksonville.

Mr. Gregory graduated from Olney Township High School in 1927 and the University of Illinois in 1940. He worked with a landscape architect in Champaign. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving with the 3508th Army Base Unit. He was an instructor in radio communications equipment, serving as a sergeant. He worked at Illinois Telephone Co. and General Telephone Co., retiring in 1972. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 570, Valley of Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine and Zingabad Grotto. He served on the cemetery board of managers and was a former Kiwanian.

Services at Cody and Son Memorial Home, Jacksonville. Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
