Leland Jared - Class Of 1933

 

 


Leland H. Jared, 84, Olney, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at his residence.

Born March 26, 1915, in Douglas County, he was the son of Ray V. and Grace (Heminger) Jared. He was a commercial pilot in the petroleum industry and retired general contractor. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Elks, Moose and Petroleum Clubs of Olney.

He married Jacqueline Eaton, who preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1970. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Mildred (Jared) Johnson.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Patti Jared, St. Petersburg, FL, Jay and Sandy Jared, Robinson, and Alan Jared, Olney; two daughters and a son-in-law-, Diane Jared, Olney and Pamela Price-Sexton and husband Jim, Springfield; a brother-in-law, Ernest Johnson, Olney: two sisters, Mildred Bower, Springfield, and Eula Mae Watson, Evansville, IN; 16 grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont.
