PEORIA -- Orville D. West, 77, of 720 W. Meadows Place died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at his residence.

Born Dec. 11, 1918, in Richland County to Bert E. and Flossie Frankland West, he married Marjorie E. Hostettler on March 4, 1950, in Olney. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy A. Speiden of Peoria; one son, David C. of Washington; six grandchildren; one brother, Robert of Dix; and three sisters, Rosa Lathrop and Helen Dishong, both of Claremont, and Velma Ahlfield of Olney.

He worked at Country Companies for 31 years, first as an insurance agent in southern Illinois and later as an agency manager in Peoria County for 26 years. He retired Dec. 31, 1980. He was a former member of Life Underwriters Association. A World War II Army veteran, he served in the European Theater. He was a member of First Federated Church in Peoria.

Services at Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home. The Rev. Bill Petterson will officiate.  Burial in Parkview Cemetery.
