James W. Landis

Services for Dr. James W. Landis, 64, Olney, who died Wednesday July 10, 1985 were at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. W.A. Robinson presiding. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Dr. Landis was born November 12, 1920 in Richland County, the son of James and Nelle (Moore) Landis. He married Ruth Dorney February 4, 1939 in St. Charles, Mo. and she survives.

He was a 1944 graduate of the University of Illinois Medical School; served his internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La. and practiced as an Internist in Olney from 1954-1975.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; American Medical Society; Illinois State Medical Society; V.F.W.; American Legion; and Elks. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include a son, Philip J., Olney; two daughters, Mrs. Jess (Susan K.) Bromm, Olney; and Mrs. Robert (Patricia E.) Landis, Paxton; a brother, Kenneth, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
