Charles E. Jennings

Charles E. Jennings, 71 of Fairview Heights, formerly of Olney died Saturday December 26, 1992 at Belleville Memorial Hospital.  Services in The Saint Stevens Catholic Church of Caseyville with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Jennings was born December 31, 1920 in Olney the son of Charles C. and Gertrude (Slichenmyer) Jennings. He married Clara Lou Kassinger March 17, 1940.

Mr. Jennings was a World War II Army veteran; serving in Japan. He was a member of the KC's of East St. Louis, VFW of Caseyville, Optimus Club, The Gladiolia Society. After his retirement from Northern Western Glass Company, he devoted his time to volunteer services. His favorite was reading for the blind at Our Lady of the Snows radio station.

Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Clara Jennings of Fairview Heights; two sons, Richard Jennings and James Jennings; one sister, Mrs. Glen (Joy) Miller of Olney; one brother, Jean Jennings of Olney; seven grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jennings was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson and two sisters, June Snider and Lois Wettreau.
