Wilbur C. Hasslinger

Wilbur C. Hasslinger, 75, formerly of Olney died Sunday February 11, 1996 in New Port Richey, Fla.  Services in Commack Abbey Funeral Home in Commack, N.Y.

Hasslinger was born July 9, 1920 in Olney, the son of Karl and Edith (Foster) Hasslinger.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; four daughters, Helen, Theresa, Karen and Michelle; three sons, Karl, Glenn and William; a sister, James (Elizabeth) Bailey of Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn.

October, 2013 Note added by son, Karl M. Hasslinger Captain, United States Navy (Retired):

Father served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during the Second World War. He and other members of the Merchant Marine were given veteran status by the U.S. Congress many years after the war. He was very patriotic and is buried in Calverton National Cemetery in New York.
