Joe Edward Bauman, 92, of Sarasota, formerly of Calhoun, Ill. died May 19, 2011.

Joe was born October 30, 1918.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Donna; daughter Sherry Guididas; son Bruce; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Joe received his United States Naval commission July 1944 serving in the Pacific during WWII. Upon retirement from his engineering career career with Creole Oil Co. in Venezuela, Joe settled in Sarasota teaching Spanish at Riverview High School for 23 years.
