Edward Verne Engledow

Edward (Sandy) Engledow, 72, of Olney died Thursday, April 25, 1991 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion.  Services at the chapel of Zirkle's Funeral Home in Olney, the Rev. Paul Prater officiating. Burial at Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney, will full military rites given by local veterans organizations.

Mr. Engledow was born April 3, 1919 in Olney, the son of Edward Clyde and Bertha Leone (Harrolle) Engledow. He married Audrey Stacey on Aug. 31, 1940 in St. Charles, Mo., and she survives.

He was a retired mechanic and had worked for Wilkin's Chevrolet Garage and Musbach Chevrolet Garage. He was a veteran of World War II, a 45-year member of Post #30 of the American Legion, a member of Olney Memorial Post #4226 of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Cuminins Municipal Band from 1935-61.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Engledow and Gary Engledow, both of Olney; one daughter, Rhonda Taylor of Olney; and three grandchildren, Chad Taylor, Jesse Engledow and Jill Engledow.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two half-brothers.
