Joy Eugene Wells, 50, died Sunday August 4, 1968 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney following a lengthy illness.

He lived at 510 S. Fair St. in Olney for the past three years. He had been an electrician for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet for the past five years. Mr. Wells spent 18 years in the armed forces and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. (T SGT ~ U.S. Air Force ~ WW II ~ Korea ~ AM & 4 OLC).  He was a member of the Church of Christ and the VFW.

Surviving are his parents, George and Mattie Smith Wells of Olney. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Dorris Nickells of Vincennes, Ind.; and two brothers, William and Robert Wells, both living in California.

Services at Summers-Rainey Funeral Home with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery. Bro. William Read officiating.
