Loren Burgener - Class Of 1932

Loren E. Burgener, 66, 233 S. Jackson, died Thursday evening August 9, 1979 at  Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.  Services at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Kaitschuk officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Burgener was born in Claremont on July 8, 1913 son of H.L. and Ida (Hanes) Burgener. He married Dorothy Poland on May 12, 1943 in Sullivan, Mo..

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Jim, New York, N.Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Barbara) Brown, Emison, Ind.; one brother, Elbert Burgener, Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters,  Mrs. Freida Scherer, Claremont, Mrs. Mildred Laxton, Leesburg, Fla. and Mrs. LaVerne Shafer, Mendota; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald.

Mr. Burgener was a veteran of World War II. He worked for the Coca-Cola plant from 1940-1941 then entered the service. He returned from a tour of duty in 1945 and resumed working at Coca-Cola until 1951. In January 1951 he went to work for Wilson Sales. On October 15, 1959 until the present time, he worked as advertising salesman for WVLN-WSEI radio. He was a member of the Richland County Post 30 of the American Legion and the Trinity Lutheran Church.
