Joy F. Jones, 78, of Calhoun, died Friday March 19, 1993 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Scott Shipman, minister, officiating. Burial in Calhoun Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born December 3, 1914 in Richland County, the son of Jess and Clara (Treece) Jones. He married Kathryn VanMatre February 2, 1942.

Mr. Jones was retired Postmaster of 30 years at the Calhoun Post Office. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Postal Employees. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jones of Calhoun; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Janet) Shipman of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Alissa Shipman and Scott Shipman and wife, Trina; one great-grandchild, Keturah Shipman and three nieces.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
