Earl Stevens

Earl G. Stevens, 72, of Parkersburg, died of natural causes Friday, May 8, 1992 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Funeral in the chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Brother Bill Rennels officiating. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg with military graveside rites performed by the Olney veterans organizations.(TEC 4 U.S. Army ~ WW II)

Mr. Stevens was born Nov. 8, 1919 at Parkersburg, the son of John and Eathel (Treece) Stevens. On Aug. 9, 1941 he married Ruth Knackmuhs in Mishawaka, Ind. She died Aug. 28, 1982.

He was a retired truck driver for Parkersburg Grain Co. and was a member of the Parkersburg Christian Church.

Survivors include four sons, Robert, Gerald, Monte and Melvin Stevens, all of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Stevens of Alvin, Texas and Bernard Stevens of Tatum, N.M.; and two sisters, Mildred McFarland of South Bend, Ind. and Verity Clodfelter of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.
