Robert E. "Bob" Travers, 81, of Olney, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Cremation rites were accorded.

Mr. Travers was born on  February 17, 1928, in Olney, the son of Fred and Elsie (Fiscus) Travers. He later married Lois Jean Fornshell on August 25, 1954, in Olney.

She survives and to this union, three sons were born: Danny Travers and his wife, Michelle, of Calhoun, Randy Travers and his wife, Anne, of Olney, Keith Travers, of Olney, three grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.

He worked for Illinois Gas Company in Olney. He served his country during the Korean War, joining the Army at the age of 24, and was a past member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one stepbrother.
