Billy Keith Grove, 66, of Norfolk, Virginia, formerly of Olney died Tuesday August 12, 1997, at his residence in Norfolk, Va.  Services at Zirkle Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Kenneth E. Bissey officiating. Graveside military rites rendered by the Olney Veteran Organization. Burial in Crest Haven Memorial Park east of Olney.

Grove was born June 29, 1931 in Olney, the son of Ohmar and Marie (Rottinghaus) Grove.

Master Gunnery Sergeant Grove joined the Marine Corps March 30, 1951 and saw action in every part of the world. He served in the Korean Conflict from March 1952 to April 1953 and was involved in both the Lebanon crisis, Cuban missile crisis and served in Vietnam. He retired April 1, 1981, having been awarded four good conduct medals, Navy Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal and Navy Unit Citation.

He is survived by his father of Olney; three brothers, Dan Grove of Olney, Robert Grove of Olney and Larry Grove of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and one sister, Diana Schmitt of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
