Melvin Lyle Stout, 66, of Paradise, Calif. died Wednesday September 13, 1995 at Feather River Hospital in Paradise, Calif.  Funeral services at the church in Paradise, Calif. with burial in Paradise Cemetery.

Stout was born February 12, 1929 in Richland County, the son of Sherman and Pansy Stout. He married Carol, September 19, 1970 in Riverside, Calif.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was employed in the Agriculture Department of the University of California-Riverside for 32 years. He was a member of the Jubilee on the Ridge Church of God in Paradise.

He is survived by his wife of Paradise, Calif.; a son, Stephen K. Stout and his wife, Rhonda of Sherwood, Ore.; two step-sons, Kenneth Walters and his wife, Vanessa and Dennis Walters and his wife, Kay; one brother, George Stout and his wife, Shirley of Claremont; four sisters, Opal Kirkland and her husband, T.E. of Claremont, Doris Hargis and her husband, Eugene of Willow Hill, Carolyn Polk and her husband, Don, and Vera Stout all of Olney; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
