Jean (Benton) Schrey, 89, of Olney, died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Jean was born on May 13, 1930 in Richland Co., IL, the daughter of Charles Landis and Esther Ruth (Hoel) Benton.  She married Kenneth Schrey on May 19, 1950 and he survives her.

Jean was a 4-H Leader and was a Charter Member of Home Bureau, which later became Richland County HEA. She was active in her church, Elm Street Christian. Jean enjoyed cooking, vegetable gardening, and sewing. She was a bookkeeper for fifty years for her husband’s business. 

Jean is survived by her husband of 69 years; Kenneth Schrey of Olney; son, Terry Schrey and wife Julie of Olney; daughter, Cathy Wilson and husband Calvin of Olney; step-grandchildren, Calvin (Rebecca) Wilson, Lisa (Shane) Waltman, and Jordan and Justin Hurn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Virginia Weiler, Robert Benton, Jane Bailey, and Charlene Diel.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.  No services are planned.
