James Pampe

James A. Pampe, 61, of Rockford, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1991 in his home following an extended illness.  Burial was in Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford.

Mr. Pampe was born Dec. 26, 1929 in Parkersburg, the son of Allen and Jennie Dean Pampe. He married Alice Wisner on Oct. 2, 1954 in Parkersburg and she survives.

Mr. Pampe was employed as a broadcast engineer at WCIA Television in Champaign; later employed in marketing at Barber-Colman Co. in Rockford, retiring in 1989. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the Army and was a member of Rockford First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post 1207. He graduated from the University of Illinois majoring in electrical engineering.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Douglas of Rockford; one daughter, Barbara (Mrs. Robert) Smith of Roscoe, Ill.; his mother, Jennie Pampe of Parkersburg; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Pauline) Stevens of Olney; two brothers, Robert Pampe of Parkersburg and David Pampe of Olney; one grandson, Ryan Smith of Roscoe, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Helen; and one brother, August.
