Willard Dean, 79 of Springfield, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at St. John's Hospice. He was born on March 13, 1931 in Parkerburg, IL to Frank and Olive (Bullard) Dean. He married Norma Kiger Bandy in 1963.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jim and Donald Dean and sister Dorothy.

A Springfield resident since 1971, Mr. Dean retired from the United States Postal Service after 33 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran serving as corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and AmVets.

Surviving are his wife; Norma of Springfield, 3 daughters; Christine (Dr. Michael) Norman of Edinburg, Kathy (Ron) Allarie of Henderson, KY and Vicki (Rick) Tapp of Sebree, KY, 2 sons; John (Janet) Bandy of Chatham, IL and Carl (Brenda) Bandy of Flora, IL, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Vernie (Ruby) Dean of Stanford, IL and Dale (Dianne) Dean of Lafayette, TN and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
