Robert Howard Bailey

Robert Howard Bailey, 77, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007. He was born July 4, 1929 in Mattoon, Ill.

Robert earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army (CPL) during the Korean conflict. Robert retired as an architect working at LMSF and he was part owner of Base Architects of Indianapolis.

Robert and his wife, Barbara, moved to Port Charlotte in 1994, from Indianapolis, Ind. He was a life member of the Elks Olney, Ill. Lodge 926, VFW Post 7119 of Indianapolis, American Legion Post 777 of Indianapolis and American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte. Robert was also an alumnus of University of Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara; stepdaughters, Vada Cramer-Burrus of Carthage, Ind., and Vicki Graves of Indianapolis; brother, Frank Bailey of The Villages, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
